Government Bonds
The Government Development Bonds are financial instruments issued by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman to finance development projects included in the Five-Year Development Plans, or to finance fiscal deficit. The investment in such development bonds is available for resident and non-resident investors, such as individuals, banks, financial institutions and companies, and any other entity of any nationality. The bonds yield fixed annual returns, paid every 6 months throughout the tenure of the bonds. The investor gets back his capital on the maturity date, i.e. at the end of the contract signed between the two parties (the Bond Issuer) and (the Bond Holder).
